Sarah joined Schmidt Design Group after working in Western North Carolina for a small firm. Her work comprised of streetscapes, parks, community planning, trail design, and stream bank restoration. After Hurricane Helene wrecked havoc on her community, Sarah had the opportunity to help small towns navigate FEMA-funded restoration efforts. Through her previous work efforts and education from the University of Georgia, she has gained a greater understanding of stormwater management and how important it is to account for the movement of water in her designs. Her passions lie in how people can restore the environment they live in and continue to learn how we can live in harmony with the environment.

Sarah graduated from the University of Georgia with her bachelors in Landscape Architecture, with a focus on ecological restoration, sustainable design, and stormwater management. After the devastation of Hurricane Helene on WNC, Sarah was able to transform her passions into actionable skills, helping small towns restore their parks, waterways, and greenspaces back to pre-Helene conditions. Sarah strives to continue using her passions to design stream bank and coastal restoration efforts.
