Schmidt Design Group is providing landscape architectural services for the new multi-family development at the San Diego State University Mission Valley site. The development features eight courtyards over podium parking at three different levels. Numerous amenities provide residents with opportunities for interaction with nature, exercise, recreation, and socialization. These include a large pool and spa area, barbecue and picnic areas, a play courtyard with dining and garden games, a secluded garden for quiet reflection, a health and wellness courtyard with fitness equipment, and a spa and cold plunge. The first floor of the development includes a grocery store and anticipated food and beverage locations alongside residential units. The design features a strong connection to the adjacent SDSU Mission Valley campus, stadium, and river park. The project will provide approximately 600 residential units, 30,000-square-feet of retail space, and 1,000 parking spaces for residential and retail parking. The project is being designed to meet LEED-Gold certification standards.
