El Norte

The story of Jack and the Bean Stock was the design theme for El Norte Park in Escondido. Services provided by Schmidt Design Group, Inc. included design, construction drawings, and construction administration. The renovation of the children’s play areas included the installation and replacement of play equipment to meet ADA requirements. The story of “Jack and the Bean Stock” can be seen in the aerial view of the park which shows that the pathways through the park are in the shape of a bean stock. Parts of the folk tale are etched into the concrete pathway that runs through the park.
