Schmidt Design Group, Inc. founder and principal Glen Schmidt was recently appointed to the City of San Diego’s new Water Policy Implementation Task Force. At the first meeting today, he was elected Vice Chair.
In an article that appeared in U-T San Diego today, Mike Lee wrote:
A newly minted group of tourism officials, lawyers, scientists and others today will start trying to fashion San Diego’s water future. The 11-member board, approved last week by the City Council, was designed to put into action recommendations outlined in the Comprehensive Water Policy adopted unanimously by the council in October. Councilmember Sherri Lightner lead the strategy development, saying it provided a cohesive approach to meeting San Diego’s long-term water needs by reforming rate structures, developing incentives for conservation and embracing cutting-edge technologies such as wastewater purification.The task force is supposed to develop specific goals, timelines and measurements of success.”
