Cottonwood Creek Park

Cottonwood Creek Park is an 8 acre park with open turf areas, tennis courts, a group picnic gazebo, a veteran’s memorial, a number of Low Impact Development features, a children’s play area, and environmental education. The central feature of the park is a portion of Cottonwood Creek and Moonlight Creek which are “daylighted” more than 600 feet through the park. The creek is re-vegetated with native plant material and provides bioremediation and flood control for 2,100 acres of watershed that flows into the park. Cottonwood Creek Park connects visitors to nature as well as to the history of the site. Interpretive panels and tiles along a perimeter pathway provide interesting facts about the creek and watershed. The large play area also incorporates local animal paw prints and references to the creek. Besides the traditional play equipment, a nine foot climbing boulder and a popular water play feature, designed by Schmidt Design Group, Inc., make this park a destination for families.
