Pentagon Memorial

The Pentagon Memorial is an international design competition submittal by the Schmidt Design Group, Inc. The design theme recognizes the loss and devastation of the event but also offers hope in highlighting the caring and united response in support of the United States and those affected by the tragedy. The design includes a ripple pond that represents the “rippling” effect that a tragedy of that magnitude has on the nation and the world. Also included are a park light area of contemplation and plazas to honor and recognize the fallen.
