West Valley Parkway
West Valley Parkway is a major arterial street connecting Escondido to Rancho Santa Fe and eventually Solana Beach. Continued growth in these communities necessitated improvements to handle additional traffic along this residential corridor. Improvements to West Valley Parkway included street widening to two lanes in each direction; slope planting and erosion control; landscaped median improvements, including enhanced pavement, trees, shrubs, and groundcover; a retention basin; and a new traffic signal at the intersection of West Valley Parkway and Avenida del Diablo. These improvements resulted in a finished product that not only improved the driveability and safety of West Valley Parkway, but also added to the aesthetic appearance and visual identity of the corridor.
