Hoover High School
Construction improvements at Hoover High School included providing a new ADA compliant access to the front of the school for both the administrative building and the performing arts center. Radiating seat walls and planters were constructed to provide entry courtyards to both facilities. Since the performing arts center is utilized on weekends, a large court seating area was constructed to provide a sense of arrival and scale to the performing arts building. The other courtyards provide a new entry statement to the school and incorporate the school’s colors with red banding and lettering integrated into the black seat walls. In addition to the improvements at the entry to the school, the campus was also renovated, providing an ADA compliant seating area under 12 existing Tipuanu Tipu trees. The more than 30 year old trees were protected in place while new seat wall planters were constructed around them to provide additional seating under the natural tree canopy for both outdoor classroom and lunch time use.
