Gompers Secondary School

The Schmidt Design Group, Inc. prepared design and construction documents for this 3.6 acre outdoor science laboratory. Located in southeast San Diego, this project is an extension to the Gompers Secondary School (grades 7-12). It provides an important learning environment for ‘hands-on’ environmental education. Major elements of the project include: an alternative technology center, wetlands and native habitat zones, and an amphitheater for outdoor classes. Tasks included coordination with Caltrans to obtain development funding.
