Pedestrian paving for circulation and plazas for dining were included in the design. Planting themes provide texture and colorful blooming throughout the year.

Services included design and construction drawing services for landscape development of a 20-acre Class A office/commercial center in Santa Clarita, CA. Referencing the agriculture history of the area, the design includes linear stripes of planting and tree alignments that set up a distinctive grid. The grid and planting stripes provide continuity and visually weave together the multi-building campus and parking areas.

This 9 acre commercial/retail center integrated an Italian ‘Tuscani’ theme throughout the building and landscape design. Pedestrian paving for circulation and plazas for dining were included in the design. Columnal Italian cypress, non-fruiting olives, and monumental date palms further accented the Tuscan theme.

Located in Escondido California, Stone Brewing Co. is a working brewing company that ships beer all over the United States. The new facility which opened in 2006 includes a full restaurant and tasting room. The Schmidt Design Group, Inc. designed the restaurant entrance, outdoor patios and beer garden. The beer garden is an acre of gardens, open space and fountains constructed within a storm-water detention basin.

Services included design development and construction drawings for landscape development of this 8.5-acre commercial/office center in Rancho Bernardo, San Diego, CA. The complex included the integration of two new Class A office buildings within an existing office complex. The design included a large courtyard between buildings, all pedestrian hardscape, and slope erosion control.

Located in southeast San Diego, this project was an extension to the Gompers Secondary School (7-12) until it recently closed. The garden provided an important learning environment for “hands-on” environmental education. Major elements of the project included an alternative technology center, wetlands and native habitat zones, and an amphitheater for outdoor classes.
